Step Impianti Srl is founded in 1995 in Trieste by the entrepreneur Pompeo Tria and his sons Anna and Paolo, joined by a group of experienced professionals involved in the field of industrial assemblies.

Step Impianti starts to operate in the construction and maintenance of civil and industrial electrical systems, quickly establishing itself as a benchmark in providing high technology equipment and installations using renewable energy sources and one of the most qualified suppliers of the large national and international Industry.

To better integrate the continuously expanding Company activities, a new Company, Digital Impianti Srl, is established in 2002, to carry out activities of design, installation and maintenance in the fields of civil and industrial automation, security systems, lifting mechanics and material handling (lifts, cranes, power showels, etc.).

In 2002, the Quality Management System of Step Impianti is certified according to UNI EN ISO 9001 Standard.

In 2002 the Company activates a new “business line”, dedicated to the rail transportation sector. Restyling, coating, mechanical and electrical works on rolling stock are the main activities.
In 2005 Step Impianti is qualified to perform EURO SOA public works for categories OG10, OG11, OS30.

In 2006, after a reorganization of the Company structure and the enlargement of its range of offered services to equipment and turn-key systems, it creates the Integrated Production District through the acquisition of the former Ansaldo Plant in Trieste.

Also in 2006, the ownership sets up a new Company, named SDS Srl, to meet the market demands in the field of civil constructions, and integrates it in the Group, to better optimize the services in both civil and industrial sectors.

In 2008 Step Impianti Srl broadens the Quality Management System into the Integrated Management System of Quality, Environment and Safety.

In 2012 the Company starts the activities in the field of air-conditioning and refrigeration, by designing and supplying turn-key plants.
